Le 9 décembre, c’est dans un O Patro Vys plein à craquer que Vincent Blain / L’indice lancait son mini-album Le Bonheur. Projections, ambiance, invités de choix; tout y était pour faire de cette soirée un succès assuré. LANCEMENT DE L’ALBUM LE BONHEUR @ O Patro Vys // 9 décembre 2010
Montréal, le 22 novembre 2010 – C’est jeudi le 9 décembre que sera enfin lancé le nouvel album de L’Indice. Vincent Blain et ses musiciens investiront la scène de l’O Patro Vys pour livrer les 12 compositions originales de l’album intitulé Le Bonheur. Le disque sera disponible le soir même selon la formule « donnez ce que vous voulez ». Coût d’entrée : 10$. Une présentation de Turbo Productions en collaboration avec Solotech et Mardigrafe.

L’Indice, c’est avant tout Vincent Blain, l’homme qui se cache derrière les productions studios de Navet Confit, Le Husky, Polipe et bien d’autres. On retrouve d’ailleurs parmi ses musiciens ce même Navet Confit à la guitare, en plus de Éric Shaw (Le Husky) aux Claviers/piano, Étienne Rocheleau à la basse et Mathieu Vézio (Mille Monarques) à la batterie. Après un premier album, dense et éclectique (Le Jour après Noël, Indépendant, 2008), L’Indice revient au-devant de la scène musicale montréalaise avec Le Bonheur, dont la très primée pièce « Le TILT » a su éveiller notre attention au sommet des palmarès de CISM au cours de l’automne.
Musique protéiforme, hyperactive et langoureusement mélancolique, le tout couplé à une forte dose d’expérimentation. L’Indice propose une écoute attentive tout en n’imposant que le plaisir des mélodies accrocheuses. Sous l’enrobage, le bonbon pop a le cœur tendre. Le Bonheur, c’est la légèreté des refrains et les riffs de guitare qui font plaisir, mais c’est aussi son absence sous forme de balade, quand le texte s’esquisse à peine et que la peine sait bien se faire sentir. Son absence rageuse, aussi, aux guitares lourdes, aux rythmiques anguleuses, aux textes crus. Mais sa présence perce, même dans les instants les plus sombres. Le Bonheur est coloré, à l’image de l’homme derrière le projet.
Après nous avoir gardé en haleine tout au long de l’automne en rendant disponible en ligne des pièces jusqu’alors inédites, L’Indice se prépare à les livrer au public pour une première fois sur scène, en intégralité. C’est à ne pas manquer. O Patro Vys, le 9 décembre 2010.

Vincent Blain and his musicians will charge the scene of the O Patro Vys to deliver the 12 original compositions of the album entitled Le Bonheur. L’Indice, it is primarily Vincent Blain, the man who hides behind the studios productions of Navet Confit, Le Husky, Polipe and many others. Among his musicians, we can find this same Navet Confit at the guitar, as well as Eric Shaw (Le Husky) at the keyboards/piano, Etienne Rocheleau at the bass and Mathieu Vézio (Mille Monarques) at the drums. After a first album, dense and eclectic (Le Jour après Noël, Independent, 2008), L’Indice returns at the front of the local music scene with Le Bonheur, whose catchy song « Le TILT » caught our attention by being at the top of the prize lists of CISM during the autumn.
Multiform music, hyperactive and languorously set in melancholy, added to a significant amount of experimentation. L’Indice requires an attentive listening while imposing only the pleasure of the addictives melodies. Under coating, the pop candy has a sweet heart. Le Bonheur, it is the lightness of the choruses and the guitar riffs that makes you happy, but it is also its absence under the form of ballads, when the text slowly incepts and the sorrow can well be felt. Its angry absence, as well, with the heavy guitars, the angular rhythmic, the raw texts. But its presence breaks through, even in the darkest moments. Le Bonheur is filled with colours, so is the man behind the project.
After keeping us tuned throughout the autumn by putting new songs online, L’Indice prepares to deliver them integrally for the first time on stage. Not to be missed. O Patro Vys, December 9th 2010.

Le collage de mélodies synth-garage et de guitares post-punk trash de Pom Pom War frappe sauvagement la scène montréalaise depuis sa formation en 2007. Le beatmaker et chanteur Nicholas Dostie secondé de sa sœur Caroline (ex-HighTops) prennent les armes, aux commandes vocales du bataillon complété de Jonathan Bouchard à la guitare-tronçonneuse et Roberto Parada à la batterie anti aérienne. Le EP Allez!! Prenez leurs armes!! aura bientôt un an, mais la vieillesse ne colle pas au groupe pour qui performance scénique est synonyme d’outrecuidance.
« superfossilpower is tyler k. rauman », nous laisse comprendre le MySpace de l’artiste qui n’aime pas les majuscules. Inspirée par les accélérateurs de particules, les automates cellulaires, l’alchimie et les couchers de soleil tropicaux, la musique de superfossilpower possède le mystère et la profondeur qui en constituent l’attrait, mais sait aussi se faire hypnotique pour nous accrocher à un niveau cérébral dont le fonctionnement reste à déterminer. Un indie-électronique dont les effets à long terme sont encore inconnus mais qui, à court terme, opère avec une précision garante de qualité.
Technical Kidman joue la carte de la transcendance un peu partout à Montréal par les temps qui courent. Surfant sur la vague de popularité qui découle du lancement de son premier EP (éponyme) à l’automne, le groupe offrira une nouvelle performance d’une intensité sauvage et calculée, à l’instar de la musique unique qu’il propose et qui est devenu reconnaissable entre mille par son magnétisme, sa puissance et son sens aigu de la structure. The beatmaker and singer Nicholas Dostie assisted by his sister Caroline (ex-HighTops) takes the weapons, at the vocal commands of the battalion completed by Jonathan Bouchard at the chainsaw-guitar and Roberto Parada at the non smooth battery. The EP Allez!! Prenez leurs armes!! will soon celebrate his one year anniversary, but oldness isn’t relative to the group for which scenic performance is synonymous with impertinence.

Inspired by the particle accelerators, the automats cellular, alchemy and tropical sunsets, the music of superfossilpower has the mystery and the depth which constitute the attraction of it, but can also hypnotise on a cerebral level whose operation remains to be determined. An indie-electronic of which the long-term effects are still unknown but which, in the short run, operates with a precision promising quality.
Technical Kidman plays the transcendent attitude everywhere in Montreal these times.
